Peeps on the Street

by Colin Nagy in Fashion

Peeper_2

Phil Oh’s recently launched (and pervy sounding) Street Peeper documents urban fashion in a variety of
cities including New York, Seoul, Paris, with many more on the way. What sets it apart from the
Cobrasnake and Misshapes-style photo archives is the fact that you can search through designers, styles and colors.

According to Phil,

Since every photo is tagged
with what the person is wearing, you can search the photos for a
specific label, style, or color. So, for example, you can type in "Marc
Jacobs" and see photos of all the people worldwide who can afford Marc
Jacobs…Or you can even click on something like "Tsubi Jeans" and see
other people around the world wearing Tsubi Jeans. Its fun! Really!

So, in essence, the site indulges both vanity and voyeuristic tendencies. Past experience dictates that this seems to be a winning combination. Add a dose of consumerism into the mix and you have something intriguing.
