PSFK Evenings

Last night in New York we held the first of what we hope will be many evenings where we invite folk working at the forefront of culture to meet and chat about what they see going on. We’ve started to do this to give the site and our consultancy new and fresh direction.

Yesterday we invited a photographer, a fashion designer, a music exec, a director and a cultural analyst to sit with us in a rather nice room in Chelsea Market. Topics ranged from the decline of hiphop to black kids moshing at rock concerts to the silent impact of the failure of the US auto industry to the idea that TV advertising is the new radio for the muisic industry to the influx of outsiders into traditional companies and their growing power to make change. Thanks to everyone who came.

  1. So wheres the protocol then … ;D

  2. This sounds like a great idea. The breakfasts were too early to start thinking :)

  3. Would love to know/hear more about this, particularly if the discussion will offer more insights about the whole Black rock thing and what that says about the idea of Black authenticity and identity.

  4. you should record the next one and post it- i’m sure there are tons of people (myself included) who’d love to get a fly-on-the-wall view of the discussion.
