Versace flies high

Having already turned her hand to decorating private jets, yachts and sports cars, Donatella Versace has now managed to find another mode of transportation to stamp her mark on- personal helicopters.

According to WWD, Versace has signed a deal with the Italian group Agusta Westland (manufacturer of NYPD and military choppers) to
collaborate on the design and manufacturing of made-to-order Versace
brand helicopters. A prototype is due to be unveiled during the Salone del Mobile in April.

The look and feel of the helicopters will be the same as all the other Versace branded transportation- white leather interiors with frieze motif trim, and of course the finished product will be extortionately expensive to ensure exclusivity- according to Versace CEO Giancarlo Di Risio "It costs so much that we are
not even saying how much".

"People who have money are increasingly seeking out more exclusive
things," Di Risio said. Considering two customers have already placed orders for Versace jets,
and twenty Versace Lamborghinis were sold within the first week, he seems to be right- and it’s
safe to assume that this newest collaboration will also prove to be a profitable one.
