Changeit
Greenpeace is taking a cue from American Idol with its retooled Change It contest. This year (its second), students can apply for the summer training program at changeit07.org, where visitors to the site can view applications and vote for
their favorites. These votes will determine 10 of the 200 available slots for
the camp, which will introduce campers to Greenpeace’s particular brand of social and environmental campaigning.

The 200 full scholarships for the program, which will take place July 20-26 in Washington, D.C., will be provided by co-sponsor Seventh Generation ("the folks who bring you environmentally
friendly laundry detergent and recycled toilet paper").

Democratic or gimic? Seems like a slippery slope. Just wait until your college acceptance rests in the hands of middle America.
