Linking Location with Emotion

The Hitotoki project is an upcoming literary site attempting to create "a narrative map of Tokyo through personal accounts from curious outsiders.”  To accomplish this, they are collecting short narratives describing pivotal moments of elation, confusion, absurdity, glee, love, or grief – or anything in between.  Each event must be inseparably tied to a specific place within Tokyo.

Basically, they are linking specific locations in Tokyo with different people’s personal stories.  I’m picturing a google map with the ability to add emotional tags – similar to how Socialight and other geo-tagging platforms are connecting locations with reviews.

  1. Thanks Jeff, we launched today with stories from Jean Snow, Joseph Squier, Claire Tanaka, Andrew Douglas, and Guttersnipe Das.

We managed to squeeze in schoolgirls playing badminton, cold egg pies, missed meetups, calloused soles, a garbage dump/greenhouse and more.

    Enjoy!
