The Anti-Party: Everyone Gets Laid
Does the copy in an invite for a New York party on Wednesday April 25 reflect the attitude towards the deluge of brand sponsored parties? Decide for yourself:
Everyone Gets Laid… Is a party for no other reason than to have a party.
There are no new sneakers to promote, there is no new magazine, no new car, book, beer, bar or clothing line to launch.
It’s JUST a party. They used to do this in New York-throw a party JUST BECAUSE. It’s time to bring the idea of an event for the sake of having a good time back into fashion. Everything comes full circle. Everyone gets laid.
When we spoke to the organizer she said:
“I wouldn’t call it an Anti-Party. It’s really a party like it should be - with no car to advertise or beer to promote.”

“everyone gets laid” was also the big party at the end of that old jeremy piven chestnut, PCU.

Posted from: 38.98.107.162You gotta have the free booze. Liquor is like lubricant - crucial to any party and not so much a sponsor (wait- was there payment?), but just necessary. I think it’s more that the party is lacking the “Scion presents…” or “Nokia and (insert artist name here)” brings you…
New York is in dire need of a event without a push for some hot new thing.
