As many of you know MAKE is championing a tech-DIY resurgence. The influence of the website and magazine from O’Reilly Media is huge – their how-to build a whatnot info proving extremely popular in our age. One company that’s been struggling to find its way recently has been RadioShack. But maybe MAKE will save RadioShack – after all, if you want to MAKE you probably need to pop down to RadioShack for some supplies.
The MAKE blog spotted that one RS store in California has decided to leverage the popularity of the brand by selling the magazine in their store. MAKE says:
It’s a pleasant surprise to see that the Sebastopol, CA Radio Shack has a MAKE display and our goods/kits/books/volumes on sale *with* projects on display. It would be wonderful if every store carried MAKE, one can dream!
It would probably save RadioShack’s hide too.

This RadioShack is not a corporate store, it is one of about 500 franchise (independently owned) stores. It can sell anything it wants, you probably won’t see this in any other store near you.
