Savant Debuts

Savant Debuts

By Guy Brighton on May 7, 2007

The shadowy serumvsvenum offshoot, Savant, has launched; the site’s lookbook is live and looks rather steezy.

"Savant is the descendant of it’s mother brand, SVSV.  Conceived to allow further exploration into various new markets and areas of design, Savant’s debut is focused on a collection of fine cashmere garments inspired by 4th to 9th century Arabic Geometry."

The online shop is currently sparse, but there’s a showroom located in Brooklyn (equipped with design studio to offer bespoke pieces).  The prices might be a bit scary but the designs are promising; Nom De Guerre’s Arabic themed pieces (this hoodie in particular) are reminiscent.  Savant’s geometric inspired prints offer a fairly novel interpretation. No idea how the pieces handle or wear, cashmere can be tricky.
