BusinessWeek has a great article highlighting 10 "professionals working at the very edges of their disciplines in order to redefine their industries."  The article looks at designers across the board - graphic, architectural, interaction, even brand mavens - and selected individuals who excelled at connecting distinct disciplines.  Those who solve problems by "transplanting knowledge from one field to another to solve a problem or create new opportunities."
