Green Roofs: Blogging for a Better Tomorrow

Green Roofs is a blog based out of Australia that is a dedicated proponent of green roof technology as both a functional and aesthetic improvement of the urban landscape. The technology has captured the public imagination of late, with more and more architects and scientists experimenting with both the lateral and vertical possibilties of plant growth on buildings, both as a facilitation of drainage systems in urban areas and as a means to create more public ‘green spaces’. The benefits of such roofs are clear; as the blog reads:
Green roofs can provide a wide range of public and private benefits, including significantly reduced fossil energy use, reduced peak runoff of roofwater, aesthetically pleasing cityscapes, longer roof life, and reduce ‘heat island effects’ of cities.
