babylounge.jpgTraveling with young children can turn a relaxing holiday into a taxing one. Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport hopes to alleviate some of the frustration of weary baby-toting travelers with its newly opened Schiphol’s Babycare Lounge by Nutricia. As a joint project by Dutch baby food brand Nutricia and Schiphol, the stylish lounge covers 90 square meters of the airport’s main terminal and is equipped with seven baby cribs surrounded by circular booth seating, creating separate cabins that can be curtained off for privacy. The lounge also offers baby baths, changing stations, and a microwave for heating up food and liquids. Open daily from 6am to 10pm, the facility is free of charge for parents and children ages 0-3.

Springwise points out the Babycare Lounge as a good example of brand space: “a place where consumers can try things out, work or relax, without being expected to buy a product or service while they’re there.” By offering high-end services and space for free, Nutricia and Schiphol show that they care about establishing themselves as brands attuned to their customers just as much as turning a profit.
