Capsule Interview Series: Kicking Mule
Few American companies have the know-how and heritage knowledge to produce quality, selvage repo(duction) jeans. Kicking Mule manages to pull it off and then some. The skinny “Rocker” cut recently joined the lineup of more traditional shapes, giving those stateside who want a slimmer selvage denim new hope.
Patrick Godspeed shares some brief words:
PSFK: How did you get involved with Capsule?
We have great respect for the people responsible for creating capsule. They understand the market and have addressed what’s been missing in the current trade show ubiquity.
What’s the inspiration/idea/theme behind this season?
The inspiration for KMW is consistent from season to season. It is about combining classic American style with Japanese sensibility. It is the study of casual tailored men’s clothing.
What do you usually turn to for inspiration?
Tailored menswear/military goods.
What are you listening to at the moment?
Where’s the most exciting music coming from right now and why?
Everywhere- just look at Canada, Sweden, UK, France, USA….
What was the last show you went to?
*Kicking Mule denim at Context.
