Cool Bloggers Fail Us

For some being green is a fashion statement rather than an action – and this is often reflected in the ‘cool’ blogs. Take for example this post from Charles & Marie that suggests folk should wash their hair in bottled water that ships all the way from Tazmania.

Why are cool blogs all about consumption?

  1. Th sad thing is, that blog is written by a man.

  2. The word ‘cool’ is (online) related to consuming. However, I don’t think that it is so in general; there is more to ‘coolness’ than meets the wallet.

So, online ‘cool’ is merely a name to describe finds that are… well… cool… I don’t think a spiritual coolhunting site wouldn’t want to be called ‘cool’. In Holland there is a magazine more or less hunting coolness in the non-consuming area. They’ve given themselves the name of:

    mindstyle magazine.

    And I like that.

Btw – I think there are plenty non-consuming-cool-hunting-blogs online; they just don’t want to be called ‘cool’.

  3. Indeed it is — talk about misleading the readers and creating a story around a ‘cool blog’ or ‘cool brand’ that is fake and entirely inaccurate.
Charles and Marie don’t exist — a European business man came up with this idea and is running the whole thing. Transparency.. a myth, eh.

  4. Not to mention the pathetic typos in the blog entry … the whole thing scores high on the Irritation Meter and good god, it’s only Monday morning.
