Here’s a free insider observation. Anthropologically speaking when a trend originates in the mid-west it tends to go beyond a trend and stick around. There are few trends that do come from the middle states but the “region” is so watered down and conservative that people are boht slow to adopt and slow to abandon. If something originates on the coasts it may go out of fashion before the mid-west even knows it exists.

I love Crocs. I was an early adopter and endured the pointing and ridicule. I have to say though, there is a new kid in town. I just bought a pair of Mions this week and they are fabulous. They’re sort of a Crocs/Keen hybrid and they’re wonderful (www.mionfootwear.com). As an added bonus, they’re made from recycled material.

I don’t know what it is, but there must be something about the Crocs. Everybody loves them no matter the age, no matter the country (i live in Italy). Colors, texture, shape?
