Happy With Our Fakes

by Piers Fawkes

The BBC has a report that two-thirds of British consumers are ‘happy’ to own fake goods. The BBC does a good job to hit us with a scare message about highlighting that purchases for fakes funds those naughty criminals. But they ignore what we consider the most important figure in the piece: about 70% of shoppers said they don’t want buying fakes illegal.

Does this reflect an attitude we have about copyright? Copyright can no longer be controlled and the public don’t really care.
