Northwest Airlines Accepts PayPal

By Piers Fawkes on July 10, 2007

Consumerist points us to a press release from Northwest Airlines that announces that it’s now accepting PayPal as a payment method.

Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) today announced that it is now offering PayPal as a way to pay for tickets at its Web site www.nwa.com. With more than 140 million accounts, PayPal is a global leader in online payment solutions that allows a safe, easy way to pay for items and services online. With PayPal, Northwest customers now have a new way to pay for tickets using debit cards, bank accounts, stored balances, or credit cards through their individual PayPal accounts.

Up until now, PayPal has been a common payment method for many ‘new media’ purchases but this news reflects how the system is creeping into mainstream finance.
