Pulse Around
The next logical iteration of the life-imitating-art trope: Life imitating Design (…imitating life). In “Grip,” a video recorded for the band zZz and as part of the opening ‘Nederclips’ at the Stedelijk Museum’s-Hertogenbosch, trampolinists physically recreate common motion manipulations – like rotate, pulse and flip. (Included are some other nice touches that designerds will appreciate). The video was filmed in one take in front of a live audience and has been left unedited here. It’s a really impressive piece of live digital art – it reminds us of when we used to play Tetris for hours on end and started seeing our lunchplates and toiletries as rearrangeable block formations.
