Car makers like BMX

by Dave Pinter

7750_7080744502.jpgLast week we tipped classic BMX bikes being reissued also of note is the number of automotive manufacturers now making 20 inch dirt bikes. The latest to offer a two wheel model is BMW with their new Cruise Bike Junior. Granted this ones targeted for 5 to 8 year olds. It’s got some nice features, a 3 speed SRAM rear hub, integrated front suspension, and built in LED safety lights. The bike has already won a Red Dot design award this year.

Cadillac also has a BMX bike available. It’s called the Escalade…. The bike doesn’t come with an over-sized chrome grille but Cadillac does offer a lifetime warranty on the frame and forks.

Lastly  we can’t forget Porsche. While they don’t exactly offer a BMX bike, they do have some interesting off-road models available. The ‘S’ in particular is nice with it’s minimal spoked rims. Their site doesn’t have a lot of detail but we assume they must be fast.
