Packaging may well be pretty but in a age when we are meant to be designing out waste this just looks ridiculous. If they had sent it our in minimal recycled/recyclable/biodegradable packaging I would have been far more impressed.

I agree, approaching bloggers prior to public release can work well. There are pitfalls mind.

I was recently approached by T-Mobile to spend a week running my digital agency [Enable Interactive] remotely using just a N95 and T-Mobile's new USB web'n'walk.

The project was covered daily on FT.com as well as in print on their podcast. I also ran it across my blog.

It all kicked off with a pretty shaky start. The technologies took an age to sync up and get operational. The PR agency were getting pretty nervous at this stage, but T-Mobile stuck with it.

At the end of the week I was dependent on the Web'n'Walk - it's like my new best mate. The N95 is alright - the battery lets it down. As for sticking with T-Mobile as my service provider. No way. Even though their customer service is nothing but terrible, it's got to be Vodafone for their network coverage.

I reckon, as long as brands are confident their product is fit for market then this should be a no risk strategy.
