Itasha is turning pimping your ride into a new art form. Itasha, which translates as “painful car” in Japanese, are cars decorated with paint jobs and decals depicting anime, game and manga characters. While itasha has been around for more than 20 years, few cars have been spotted on the road until recently. As anime and its fans becomes more mainstream, more car owners are giving their rides an itasha makeover to display pride in their growing subculture.
