Local In Hamburg

by Piers Fawkes

Hamburg

After our recent visit to Berlin, we caught a train to Hamburg and there we noticed something we’d seen in the German capital – stores celebrating local designers and producers like the mini-department store Berlinomat. In Hamburg we came across Yokazuna where all along one wall was a stack of square shelved compartments, each selling the craft work of a local designer. But our favorite local store we found was Hanseplatte – a store that only sold music and books by local bands and authors.
