Zipcar Gets

by Jeff Squires

Zipcar, the International car sharing program that recently merged with Flexcar has made finding a car even easier. They’re rolling out a mobile strategy that will provide instant, anywhere access to it’s vehicle fleet from members’ mobile devices.

The best feature they have introduced is a mobile tracking system. Instead of logging into the website via a computer and searching for cars by neighborhood, members with GPS enables mobiles can now simply access the Zipcar site through their phone - where ever they are - and will automatically get directed to the nearest vehicle.

Additionally, they have also added a text messaging feature that will send messages to members reminding them of reservations and providing details about a vehicles location. They’ve even created a mobile version of their reservation site that allows members to reserve cars through any mobile device.
