Marc Ecko Fields Barry Bonds’ 756th Home Run Ball

by Orli Sharaby

At 10:45pm on September 14th, an anonymous bidder won the auction for Barry Bonds’ record-breaking 756th home run ball, paying more than $750k for the highly controversial piece of history. As it turns out, that buyer was hip-hop clothing designer Marc Ecko, and now he wants you to decide what to do with it.

According to the official website, Ecko bought the ball “to democratize the debate over what to do with it.” So he’s asking you to vote for one of three options: a.) give it to the Hall of Fame; b.) imprint a permanent asterisk on it, and then give it to the Hall of Fame; or c.) catapult it into outer space - out of sight, out of mind.

As Ecko notes, “we all have an opinion.” So go and voice yours. And don’t forget to notice the plugs for various Ecko branded websites after you vote. Naturally.
