“Meet the best ipods ever”

Like many of you, we followed Engadget’s live coverage of the new updated iPod range yesterday morning. Back in June, when Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone, he called it the “Best iPod ever.” As a reference to that remark, the homepage headline Apple.com currently reads, “Meet the Best iPods ever.” Probably the most welcomed new iPod product is the iPod Touch. For now, it qualms investors’ worries that the iPhone would cannibalize some of the iPod’s market share.
But during him presentation, Jobs also announced that Apple would offer the iPhone at a more competitive price of $399, instead of $599. Several analysts seemed to attribute the price cut as Apple’s way to reconcile lower than expected sales of the iPhone. Must be high expectations. According to this Guardian article, iPhone sales have been greater than any other US competitor, and estimates it has helped Apple gain around 1.8% of the entire US market.
What were your reactions today? Best ever?
