BedBusters: Taking Your Old Mattress to a Greener Place

mattress_141103.jpgOld mattresses – cumbersome space-wasters that no one wants, and no one knows how to get rid off. That’s where BedBusters comes in: the SF-based company helps you dispose of your mattress the eco-friendly way – by hauling it off to a recycling center where it is turned back into usable materials like steel, wood, and foam. It’ll set you back about $100 for a two-piece full-sized set, with extra charges added if movers must climb more than 18 steps or the mattress is extra-large.

We like BedBusters’ commitment to the environment, especially considering how many mattresses are left to rot in landfills across the country. As pointed out by Springwise, the International Sleep Products Association says that just in Duluth, Minnesota alone, more than 63,000 mattresses are dumped at landfills every year.
