Ladies ‘n Mercedes: Clutch, a Car Dealership with Class

by Christine Huang

clutch.pngAtmosphere isn’t the first thing we notice when entering a car dealership - probably because most don’t have any. Vancouver’s Clutch, a luxurious offshoot of Canada’s autoONE company, stands out as a dealership conscious of style and comfort - something they hope will appeal to the generally neglected female car-buying market. Their luxurious showroom includes an Italian-tiled floor, designer furniture and lighting, and other classy touches (including a La Marzocco espresso machine). Clutch also boasts a congenial, respectful staff that allows customers to leisurely browse through their collection of high-end vehicles (which include Aston Martins, Jaguars, Land Rovers, BMWs and Porches) before giving them the option of trying out the car of their choice for an entire day.

By changing up the usually sterile surroundings of the dealership for something a bit softer, Clutch offers a unique experience they hope will be inviting to their female clientele - a market that several previously male-focused industries (like brewing companies, for example) are turning their attention towards.
