New Health & Beauty Retail At Newark

We find retail in US airports is often pretty poor, disappointing and plastic – but these two new stores caught our eye in Newark Airport the other day.

The d-parture spa offers massage, haircuts, facials, manicures and pedicures. The website says:

The interior design, fixtures, theming and overall brand style express a point of view about how you can travel without the usual stress; making d-parture spa the the most relaxing airport experience… Those travelers without access to airline lounges will now feel as thought they have their very own v.i.p. lounge to go to before their tiring flight…or when they return.

Just around the corner Harmonie pharmacy looks more like fancy beauty store. A job post for staff says that Harmonie offers:

International health and beauty products and cosmetics in addition to pharmacy services and the ability to see a healthcare provider on-site! We are open 15 hours daily.

Two stores which travelers might want to use even if they weren’t at an airport.
