Comics Go Digital

by Matthias Weber (PSFK Hamburg)

marvel-digital.jpgMarvel have just given full digital access to about 2,500 of their classic comics and graphic novel titles.

The monthly subscription is $ 9.99, but if you’re willing to shell out for the year, it comes down to $4.99. As a teaser, Marvel is providing snippets from 250 titles for free. Marvel claims their new service to be a big succes already- the site is down for maintenance at the moment.

DC Comics are following a different strategy - they opened an Online community for comic creators which is likely used for talent-scouting purposes as well. On Zuda Comics, users can upload their artwork and vote for their favorites in the Zuda competition.
