Parkour + Skateboarding

When people describe parkour, they almost always fall back upon skateboarding comparisons such as “it’s like skateboarding without the board” or “imagine combining skateboarding with gymnastics” - inevitably, these comparisons have drawn a lot criticism from skaters. If only as an inspiration for parkour, there do seem to be some clear similarities.

The below video is a refreshing glimpse at what happens when the two are combined.

This video also reminded us of clip we saw on VBS.TV’s Epicly Later’d series where they interview Chris Haslam, a professional skater known for his “geek tricks.”[via Mike Arauz]
