Underground Skating In Berlin

by Matthias Weber (PSFK Hamburg)

undeground-skating.jpgOn a recent stroll through Berlin I came across these kids using the pedestrian underpass below the ICC for rollerskating. They even put up goals to play hockey. As rain was pouring outside and the area around the ICC is not really equipped with covered skate parks; this place just turned out to be the best place for them- without bothering anyone.

We’ve been discussing the question how would you rebuild your city? Sometimes you just have to look at how people are reinventing urban spaces and how they are changing a context that has been thought of differently.
