Y Water – The Fun’s in the Bottle

With several new kids beverages like Poland Spring’s Aquapod and Crayola’s Color Coolerz! hitting the market, one that looks especially promising is Y Water, a certified organic drink targeted at the younger set that comes in a 100% recyclable bottle that doubles as a toy. The calcium and zinc-enriched drink, available in four varieties that are a concoction of flavors like black carrot juice and coriander, will be sold through Whole Foods beginning early next year. But what’s most interesting about the drink is its packaging – the colorful three-dimensional Y-shaped bottle snaps together with other Y bottles to create simple, barbell-shaped toys. The fun doesn’t come cheap – the 9-ounce bottles will be priced at $1.69 – but keeping your kid entertained for a few minutes may well be worth it.
