Current TV will be presenting the second installment of their Audience Generated Concert Video series “All Eyes” tonight, featuring clips aggregated from fans’ cell phone and camcorder footage of a live concert by the band My Morning Jacket. Last year, Current inaugurated their All Eyes series with a Shins show shot by 200 fans, and this time around they had 8 GB of footage to sift through, according to director/producer/editor Alex Simmons. As reported by Wired, Simmons was amazed by the jump in mobile uploading by fans since the Shins show:
“Just looking at the footage, I can tell that easily a thousand people were filming… I don’t know what happened in the last year in the world of mobile video but not only did we get a lot more clips then we did with The Shins but the variety of file formats expanded greatly too. ASF, WMV, MOV, MPEG, MP4, AVI, in addition to all the variation of QuickTime codecs. We had loads of problems getting them all to happily coexist on a Final Cut timeline and getting some of the Windows based files to play on a MAC.”
Technical difficulties aside, we’re excited to see the result. View the trailer below, and go over to Current.tv at 10EST/PST tonight to watch the show live.

Check out what Bon Jovi’s doing with Bon Jovi Loves My Town! — Fans are creating user-generated videos @ why they love their hometown— people, places, icons, scenery to http://www.bonjovilovesmytown.com. Winning videos will become part of the band’s multi-million-dollar, big-screen video presentation of the song “I Love This Town” and will be featured before a worldwide audience during the band’s world tour. (BON JOVI actually pioneered this concept 20 years ago by enlisted their fans to shoot the tour with Super 8’s and their footage became the video for “Bad Medicine” — a #1 hit on the Hot 100 Billboard Chart)
