Design, Wit, And The Creative Act

By Jeff Squires on January 7, 2008

Over at Core 77, they’ve just posted the video footage from their recent offsite event at the Art Directors Club in New York City. Entitled “Design, Wit, And The Creative Act,” the day featured speaker presentations and a panel discussion with Kelly Dobson, Paul Budnitz, Tobias Wong, and Steven Heller.   Moderated by Ze Frank, the designers spoke about the unique ways in which the convergence of the aptly named event occur in their own work and in general.

You can check out all of their presentations here, but if you’re lacking the motivation to sit through an entire presentation, Ze Frank’s introduction is pretty hilarious.  In classic Ze style, he insightfully de-constructs (in the most literal and abstract ways) what design is really all about.
