Marc Andreessen points us to a Financial Times article that reports that EMI, who is laying off a third of its workforce, spends 25 million pounds a year to scrap unsold CDs”. Marc comments:

That’s about $50 million — a year. To destroy unsold physical inventory in a world of ubiquitous digital distribution. Oh my.
