Inspired Photography: Graphic Landscapes

By Dave Pinter on January 8, 2008

Three photographers recently caught our eye, each producing work that abstracts landscapes into colorful graphic images.

Netherlands based Sjoerd Tenkate just launched a new photo site of his automotive and architectural work. He’s photographed for Lexus, shot the recent Gumball 3000 rally, and documented a night out with the paparazzi in London. We like his long exposure shots capturing car tail lights streaking through the frame.

Carlo van de Roer’s Location series contains some beautiful portraits. The most interesting are more environmental shots where the figure is obscured by fog or water.

Finally Julian Faulhaber’s subject of choice are flawless architectural spaces. The human figure is never present to give scale and transforms each scene into studies of surface and color.
