Love The Apple Store? Build Your Own
It might not be a simple feat, but oobject.com has created a shopping list of architectural materials, lighting, furniture, right down to the bathroom accessories that Apple uses in each store. There is a user ranked gallery showing each item and listing all the vendor contact information you need to place your order. The large light wood tables are the current favorite. In case you need help finding the best spot for the Genius Bar in your house, there is even a contact for Eight Inc. the San-Francisco based firm responsible for the design of all Apple’s current shops.
Hotels have made it easy to replicate their rooms by offering nearly everything in it for sale. W Hotels have a complete online shop. Even though Apple isn’t responsible for this vendor list, there are a few retailers out there that might make for interesting home versions of their shops. Can you imagine your kitchen looking like a Whole Foods interior?
