Wallpaper Announces Design Awards for 2008
Wallpaper has just announced the winners of its annual Design Awards. Their choices are quite respectable generally, but in some categories, like “Best Domestic Appliance” and “Best Private House,” of which thousands, or millions, are produced each year, you have to wonder how they came to their conclusions (PR, anyone?). Even their choice of Raf Simons for Jil Sander as “Best Fashion” is questionable (though we do think he’s a great designer).
And, honestly, the $100 laptop as “Best Life-Enhancing Item”?
