The Solar Charge ec and the Biomechanical Energy Harvester are two examples of technology that helps you power up your gadgets on the move. The Solar Charge ec is a battery that dangles from your phonepicking up the sun’s rays on its solar panel. Six hours of sunlight will provide approximately thirty-five minutes of use. The Biomechanical Energy Harvester is still in concept stage and is something that was thought up (and tested) by researchers in Canada. It’s a brace that exercisers attach to their knee and the movement in the leg generates enough energy to power ten mobile phones.

  1. That leg this is cool.

Now, I wonder if it would be possible to power the Wii by waving wands about and jumping up and down on the Wii Fit board to power the console?

The Wii is pretty good on power consumption so who knows – this could work?

*shakes wrist to power watch a little more*

  2. “leg thing” typing with my foot again..
