While Amy Winehouse is sequestered in a rehab facility in England, her influence is quickly spreading across the globe. Last month when news broke that the singer was launching her own cosmetics line, we were a little shocked. Her look, besides being uniquely stylized, is so firmly rooted in unsavory behavior; how could it be co-opted so blatantly by the mass market?

Now, after the dust settles from two months’ worth of fashion weeks across the globe, it’s become clear that the singer’s influence on contemporary fashion is much more pervasive than a simple cosmetics line. Winehouse performed at both the Louis Vuitton runway show and the Fendi store during Paris Fashion Week. Her style was also the unmistakable inspiration for several high profile looks this season, including Lagerfeld’s Chanel and Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garcons.
