Concept Phones: From Theory to Product
Forbes has a profile of concept phones and the methodology used by different companies to come up with the next generation of mobile devices.
One of the encouraging themes is the use of alternative energies to power mobile phones and the use of recycled materials in handset construction. Along with the environmentally friendly models, other concept phones featured include the nanotech Nokia Morph phone and the Wellness phone that contains, among other functions, a bad breath meter.
A spokesman from Nokia describes the thinking and design process behind concept phones:
It’s a way to go from theoretical to concrete. We can show it to people, get feedback and start conversations…None of this is on a particular road map. Some concepts may never come to pass. But some may very well change the way we make devices in the future.
