Allan Chochinov, partner and Editor in Chief at design megasite Core77, will be hosting a talk on uncovering innovation through asking a simple, “dumb” design question (we’ll leave the reveal for the conference). We asked Chochinov to tell us a little about himself and what he’ll be sharing at the conference.
First, who are you and what do you do?
I’m technically the editor in chief of Core77, we all all wear many hats around here. I also work on Coroflot (our job and portfolio site) and on Design Directory (our design firm database). Add to that coordinating design conferences and competitions, and there are a lot of balls in the air.
What do you hope the audience will learn from your presentation, “The Dumbest Smartest Design Problem”? Can you explain a little about what you will be discussing?
People are forever talking about “asking the right questions,” but diverse answers to any problem can be unbelievably instructive. In the presentation, I’ll be discussing a couple fascinating questions, showing a ton of answers, and talking about the role of strategy in creating innovation and value. And it’ll be a bit silly (you’ll see why on the 27th).
