The Sun Never Sets on Cool

Sunglasses are arguably the most expressive accessory, with the ability to totally transform a person’s style in an instant. Wearing the very same outfit, swapping a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers for some Oliver Peoples makes a drastically different statement. And JC Report says that this Spring, something new is happening in the sunglasses world — there’s a critical mass of loud, eccentric, highly stylized eyewear suddenly on the market. The online fashion mag points to Linda Farrow’s collaboration with a slew of hip designers like Luella and Rodarte, Karen Walker’s neon-colored, cartoonish frames, and Prada’s Lennon-esque (but blinged out) gold metal numbers, among others.

  1. Fascinating to read about fashion trends withh eyewear, but when talking about “loud, eccentric, and highly stylized” one wonders if this is something that will be encountered routinely at the local pool or the beach, or how realistic and PRACTICAL some of these selections would be. I’ll be on the lookout, regardless… :)
