Week Long Dance Marathon

Week Long Dance Marathon

By Dan Gould on March 11, 2008

Lots of interesting happenings at the 2008 Whitney Biennial (nicknamed the “Facebook” biennial). One standout is artist Agathe Snow’s entry to the show, a 96 hour dance marathon at the Park Avenue Armory. The party runs all this week from 11am to 11pm and then a 24 hour final stretch 11am Saturday till 11am Sunday. Score is kept by an old fashioned time clock and punch cards. The dancer with the most hours logged in wins (bragging rights, or an unnamed huge prize? – we’re not sure). Over forty DJs are scheduled to perform.
