Tech blog Engadget reports that they’ve been approached my Deutsche Telekom, owners of the T-Mobile brand, and asked them to stop using magenta in the logo of their telecom off-shoot ‘Engadget Mobile. They’ve published the letter and this handy chart to help readers and the telecom industry understand the subtle differences between a mobile tech company and a mobile tech blog.
| Deutsche Telekom | Engadget Mobile | |
|---|---|---|
| Cellphone carrier | Yep | No |
| Distributor of telecom equipment | Yep | No |
| Likely to be mistaken for T-Mobile / Deutsch Telekom | We certainly hope so | No |
| Former state-owned monopoly | Yep | No |
| Has something against US 3G | Apparently | No |
| Has more than five friends | Might not anymore | Yep |
