BaseDrift – Social Networking Meets Gaming

When we first got sent the link for BaseDrift, our first reaction was – oh, another video game with live audio-chat that’s positioning itself as a social network. But the more we looked into it, the more intrigued we have become. The game, that will launch in June in, combines console quality gaming with a self-perpetuating, user-generated community focusing on all aspects of social networking, including dating, celebrity making, film making, music creation, chat and an in-game comic.  The hybrid game/SNS will also be released in Spanish, Hindi, Korean and Chinese throughout 2008.

The makers seemed to have taken cues from World Of Warcraft, allowing folks to develop content and trade it too.
