Our 1st Book: PSFK SNAPSHOT SAN FRANCISCO

By Piers Fawkes on May 12, 2008

We’re proud to announce our new book PSFK SNAPSHOT SAN FRANCISCO. It’s basically our selection of what’s inspirational in San Francisco – it’s half guide book, half trends report. This Snapshot Report contains details of unique and innovative businesses, events, organizations and ideas in one of the most inspirational cities in the world.

The diversity and raw creativity that emanate from the San Francisco Bay Area make it an ideal location to seek out innovative ideas at the forefront of culture. PSFK traveled to the West Coast to explore the region and talk with tastemakers, opinion leaders and new businesses to better understand the cultural, consumer and business trends impacting this hotspot. We hope the PSFK Snapshot San Francisco report provides the reader with fresh ideas from a different perspective.

The 80 page book comes in soft and hard-back and sections include: Art & Music, Food & Drink, Health, Shopping, Environment, Community and a Focus on the Mission district.

To be honest, it started out as one of our reports that we thought we’d sell to big brands but when we looked at it, we struggled with the idea of charging a lot of money when there are several ‘consumer’ books out there that do a good job already. With our own thoughts on what’s inspirational in the Bay Area, we decided to publish our own at a competitive price ($30 plus postage) instead of a few hundred bucks.

Watch out for the next issues: East London, Brooklyn and Hamburg.

Note: This is not the ‘At Play‘ collaborative book project – which we’re still developing during the rest of May.
