When Polaroid announced their halt of instant film production, an era of instantly anonymous gratification ended. No more can you snap off over-saturated, beautifully mis-happed skin-tones on 3×3 sheets of plastic & reminisce over the things you don’t necessarily want the developer to gander at.
Mental Floss points us to a blog about a fellow who took a Polaroid every day for 18 years. We see picnics outside, random props and apartments, birthday parties and eventually, effects of cancer upon the photographer himself…this is a remarkable and heartfelt ode to Poloroid’s impact upon culture.
