Swinx is a Dutch game system that interacts with children as they play. Using RFID enabled arm bands, it encourages children to run and move. A lime green, clover-shaped console runs the games by telling players what the games are, how to play them, keeps score, acts as referee and even cheers players on.
Players can also track their personal performances based on their Swinxs wrist band and new games can be downloaded by connecting the console to the web.
Oh, the system can also play music and tell stories… hang on – a story-based gaming device?!

I’m trying to imagine how this console will work. Does it bark out rules in a robotic voice? I like the wristband idea although they’d have to be very durable and be able to be bent or get wet if they were going to last long.

No the voice is high quality and human (as can be seen in the movie on youtube that marijn mentions). Wristbands are made from silicone, durable and strong.
