Another Business Only Airline Grounded

Within weeks of the demise of its main competitor EOS, business only airline Silverjet has stopped flying. Both airlines flew between the UK and New York and offered a small number seats with business class service and features. Silverjet also had a daily service to Dubai from Luton.

Sure some folks might wonder why a sheik would ever want to go to Luton, but the BBC suggests that it’s all to do with rising oil:

Business airline Silverjet has suspended all flights after failing to secure essential funding… It is the latest carrier to run into trouble as fuel prices soar on the back of record oil prices. Rival business airlines Eos and Maxjet have gone out of business this year while other carriers are struggling.
