The Spinning Skyscraper

The world’s first rotating skyscraper is going up in Dubai. Construction begins this month on the $700m “Dynamic Tower“. Architect David Fisher has designed a one of a kind structure that contains 80 apartments which can rotate 360 degrees independent of each other. The building will also be energy positive. Using wind and solar power, it will generate more electricity than it uses. Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2010.

  1. Stunning. I think I’ll go and re-read my fave Gibson book, ‘Idoru’ which was the first place I heard this idea mentioned.

  2. This will never get beyond the drawing board. If you read the original article you will see the “designer” has fraudulent credentials.
